Samuel Martin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Politics from the University of the West Indies, a Master’s degree in Economics from Yale University and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Consulting and Coaching for Change from the HEC University in Paris, France.
During the course of his career he has served both as Chairman of the Board of First Citizens Bank Limited and Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Heritage and Stabilization Fund in Trinidad and Tobago, as well a Director of Citibank in Trinidad and Tobago between 1994 and 2004.
Mr. Martin retired in August, 2004 after ten years as the Chief Executive Officer of the nation’s largest telecommunications company, the Telecommunication Services of Trinidad and Tobago. Since then, he was worked as a consultant in organizational transformation in association with the Forum for Social Innovation based in Paris France.
In addition to his work as a consultant he also has experience working for the Government of Trinidad and Tobago as Senior Economist, Director of Project Financing, Deputy Director of the country’s National Airline, President of the former Iron and Steel Company of Trinidad and Tobago and Managing Director of ALGICO, a major subsidiary in Trinidad of AIG of the USA.
