Kerwyn Valley

Kerwyn Valley is the Chief Executive Officer of KCL Capital Market Brokers Limited. He also sits on its Board of Directors. He is the holder of an MBA from York University’s Schulich School of Business, with a specialization in Finance and International Business.

After completing his training in Canada, Mr. Valley embarked on a career in the financial sector, including 10 years with the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC).

As the Vice President of Business Development for the Canadian office of a publicly-traded U.S. trade finance company, he was responsible for the structuring and implementation of a strategic alliance which resulted in the creation of a state of the art structured finance programme. The collaboration generated over CAD $30 million in highly profitable new business within its first 6 months of existence.

In 2004 Mr. Valley joined the AIC Financial Group in Trinidad and Tobago, with responsibility for the development of the Group’s regional Trade Finance Division. In 2008 Mr. Valley was appointed CEO of AIC Finance Limited. In 2010 he was also be appointed CEO of AIC Capital Market Brokers Limited. In 2011 Mr. Valley led a successful management buy-out of that company, repurposing and rebranding it as KCL Capital Market Brokers Limited.

Mr. Valley has over 24 years of professional experience in the financial services industry that have been marked by increasing levels of responsibility and expanding diversity of portfolios under his management which have included retail, commercial and corporate and public sector clients. He has received various awards for excellence in business development, team building and portfolio growth, including the prestigious Royal Performance award given annually to the top 1 percent of RBC’s global employees.

Mr. Valley was the founding Chairman of the Kenneth Cyril Valley Foundation (“KCV”), KCV is a Trinidad & Tobago registered charitable organization focused on youth education, empowerment and entrepreneurship. Mr. Valley is also the founder and Managing Director of Aspire Fund Management Company Limited, Aspire is a small-cap private equity management company focused growth stage private sector investments throughout the Caribbean.
